What is your favorite thing about the department/your position now that you have started your first semester?
"The kindness and support of my colleagues has been my favorite part of the department so far. The students here also impressed me a lot. They are energetic and engaged."
What are your research interests?
"I'm interested in the statistical foundations of data science, particularly in developing reliable methods for predictive modeling and uncertainty quantification, as well as important application of statistics such as in the field of statistical genetics. What is something you are looking forward to in your career?
"To be brief, I hope to become a good Storyteller. As a researcher, I am committed to addressing and presenting cutting-edge problems in statistics. I also look forward to witnessing the continuous development of the field, whether through my own work or that of others. It is exciting to see how far statistics can go within my lifetime. As an instructor, I aim to keep improving my teaching so that my lectures better meet the needs of today’s students."
