The Power of Collaboration: UK Statistics Department and KY Energy Cabinet Forecast Kentucky's Energy Future

Looming greenhouse gas emission regulations will affect the economies and power grids of every state in the nation. The Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Energy and Environment Cabinet partnered with the University of Kentucky's Department of Statistics to generate a variety of potential scenarios for the future of energy in Kentucky.

New Faculty 2013: Meet Solomon Harrar

The Department of Statistics is excited to welcome Associate Professor Solomon Harrar to its faculty!
 
Harrar isn't entirely new to the state of Kentucky but he is new to the University of Kentucky. One thing that drew him to UK is the large biomedical presence at the university which fits together well with the research he is already pursuing. Most immediately, Harrar hopes to focus his research work around programs that deal with smoking cessation. 

QIPSR Provides Free Workshops in Quantitative Research Methods, Grant Writing, Software

The Quantitative Initiative of Policy and Social Research is an organization committed to enhancing quantitative research across various colleges at the University of Kentucky.
